Collaboration with Ardent Dance Company for their August production of POE

Experience a modern dance called POE, based on the works of Edgar Allan Poe, and create poems that may be presented at performances of POE in August.

POE was created and is being performed by Ardent Dance Company, based on seven Edgar Allan Poe stories and poems: The Cask of Amontillado, The Raven. The Pit and the Pendulum, Annabel Lee, The Masque of the Red Death, The Tale-Tell Heart, and Lenore.

Participants are required to:
1. Write Poems based on your experience of the rehearsal
while possibly integrating themes, ideas and characters found in Poe’s work.

2. Submit up to 4 Poems. Poems may be presented at the theater, at intermission and on social media.
Short poems, up to 15 lines, are being considered for display at the theater. Longer poems may be read/performed during intermission.
Poems will also be shared on social media by Poets & Patrons and Ardent.

Submit poems by Thursday, August 1
Judges will select up to 20 poems.
The selection of poems will be announced on Monday, August 10.
