Our members are diverse, comprised of writers from widely varying backgrounds and ages; united by a deep appreciation for poetry.
Our members take their poetry rather than themselves seriously. Our emphasis is on growth of understanding and craft. We support and learn from each other’s work. Membership is open to anyone who supports our mission. In order to facilitate an open and non-exclusive environment, we keep our membership fees at a very reasonable level.
Membership entitles poets to hone their skills through interaction with like-minded people in both formal and informal sessions, including four workshops per year, notice of the annual Chicagoland Poetry Contest. Our quarterly board meetings are open to members. Contact us via email for details on how to participate in meetings.
To join us, please choose a membership level below and fill out a membership form. Or, if you prefer, you can send a $20 check for membership fees to our treasurer, Caroline Johnson. Please send an email to: poetsandpatrons@gmail.com and we will send you the address. The annual cost of membership at the regular level is $20.
Our Membership/Subscription-year begins January 1. All memberships are for a calendar year from January 1 to December 31. We strongly encourage members to renew in the Fall months for the upcoming year.
